It has the typical Rover patina acquired through gentle use as a ranch truck. The details … 1964 Series IIa 88 Deluxe Station Wagon (Bonneted Control), serial number 24410242B About 91,000 miles since new • 2.25 liter petrol engine w/ Zenith 36 IV carb • “Link-Arc” 160 amp alternator w/custom installation of arc and TIG welder & fast battery charger; custom rear access throttle control (installed, not currently connected) • Superwinch locking front hubs • Original jack, jack handle, and hand turn engine crank lever included • Original Factory Options: o High capacity Kodiak Mark III heater o Tropical roof w/Alpine windows o Sliding rear windows o Deluxe bonnet w/spare tyre carrier o Deluxe “Elephant hide” interior o Four rear jumpseats (two currently installed) o Dual factory gas tanks w/diverter valve o Tachometer, oil pressure and water temp gauges (oil and temp gauges not currently connected) o Rear folding step Original Lucas wiper motors This truck does not have an overdrive unit. While it tachs smoothly up to “highway” speeds, don’t expect to go faster than about 50 mph for any duration. A Rover will take you anywhere, just not very quickly. Without listing every gasket and seal, here’s what has been done (by previous owners and me): • 6 wheels trued and powder coated – 5 new tires installed • All rubber brake lines, brake master cylinder, and wheel cylinders replaced • Brake drums turned • Parking brake restored • Stainless steel muffler and exhaust system • Front drive shaft U-joints and rubber spline boot • Read drive shaft spline boot • Restored clutch assembly with clutch disk, pressure plate and bearings • Restored clutch hydraulics and linkage with new bushings and seals (recently renewed master and slave cylinders) • Rebuilt original starter • New water pump, hoses, thermostat and fan belt • Heater core rebuilt w/new fan motor, hoses, intake air pipe & defrost air tubes • Stainless steel side view mirrors • Superwinch locking hubs • New Exmoor front seat set in correct Elephant Hide vinyl (original spring steel front seats retained and included) • Lucas lenses for exterior lamps • Restored multi-function ignition/light switch • Main gas tank restored (using POR-15 cleaning/sealing treatment) • New anti-burst door latches (not yet installed) • New headliner installed over front seats; kit for back area among the extras • Clutch, brake, and accelerator pedal pads replaced; tower assemblies cleaned, repainted, and new gaskets installed There are many boxes of parts and spares, including: • Spare transmission and transfer case • 1 Old Man Emu gas-charged shocks • Full set of factory shop manuals and other misc documentation • Defender style front and rear lamp set, and • Much, much more watch the video and see!
